Mestek Machinery Hosts US Senate candidate and US Representative Bruce Braley

At Mestek Machinery, Cedar Rapids, IA -- LtoR:  Kurt Jordan, plant supervisor;  US Senate candidate and US Representative Bruce Braley; Robb Barlow, project manager; Katie Lawler, human resources manager; and Randy Sconyers, SMWIA263 Business Manager.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, US Senate candidate and US Representative Bruce Braley toured a Sheet Metal Worker Local 263 signatory contractor, Mystek Manufacturing.  Part of the group included Local 263 Business Manager. Braley took this opportunity to emphasize that he is working to keep jobs  in the USA, and part of that work is to initiate an elimination of tax credits that reward companies that ship jobs overseas.
Braley viewed the metal forming equipment Mestek uses to manufacture, among other things, heating and air conditioning ductwork.  Braley stated, “I happen to believe that America’s best manufacturing days still could be ahead of us,”
Braley is currently the Representative in Iowa's 1st Congressional District and is hoping to succeed retiring Iowa Senator Tom Harkin in the mid-term election taking place on November 4, 2014.
