Take Me Out to the Ballpark - SMWIA #263 at the Kernels - #1

A night at the ballpark is a family affair for SMWIA Local #263.
A few children/grandchildren of SMWIA members were selected to sit in the Kernels dugout--and then go out on the field to stand with "their" player while the National Anthem was playing.  They also were able to get an autograph from their player.

Other activities were enjoyed pre-game -- hula hoop contests, waiting in line for prizes...
More pictures coming in future posts ~

Thank you

On April 2, 2010 Local 263 held their 2010 Sheet Metal Workers' award ceremony.  The event recognized those with longevity and  acknowledged the apprentices who completed their apprenticeship and moved into journeyman status. During this event a special award was presented to Jim Bailey.  Local 263 acknowledged Jim's many years as coordinator for the apprenticeship program and his leadership in making the building of the local's training facility a reality.  The present coordinator, Jerry Hintz (with Jim Bailey in the picture, far left), presented the award along with Randy Sconyers, Local 263 Business Manager, shown here congratulating and thanking Jim for his many  years of service to the Sheet Metal Union.
Additional pictures from the award event, and names of those being honored for 25, 40, 50, and 60 years of service are available on the local's website at
